DESCRIPTION:UNA Canterbury invites you to attend the Service for World Peace. This year’s theme is the role of the UN as a global mediator and will be joined by the High Commissioner of Namibia and the Chair of the Commonwealth Board of Governors\, H.E. Linda Scott who will be delivering the keynote address. She will be highlighting the current global challenges to peace and stability and how we may attempt to overcome these\, as well as looking ahead to COP27 and what it may achieve in our current global quest to minimise the impact of climate change in our communities. \nVenue: Canterbury Cathedral\nDate: Sunday 23 October 2022\nTime: 5:30pm (doors open at 5pm) \nThe service is open to the public\, without charge. There will be a retiring collection at the end\, where proceeds will go towards supporting UNA Canterbury’s projects in East Kent and globally. DESCRIPTION:Westminster UNA:\nOn 17 July\, UNA Westminster invites us to Walk the Mandela Mile (between the statues of Mandela at the Royal Festival Hall and in Parliament Square) and then to join the UN Green Party\, at United Nations Green. The party will run from 13:00 – 17:00. Further details are here. \nOn 9-16 October UNA Westminster would like indications of interest in joining a Study Tour to Vienna to visit several important UN agencies and programmes as well as the OSCE.
