DESCRIPTION:UNA-UK is delighted to be hosting an evening to celebrate the life and legacy of Kofi Annan. \nMr Annan played a major role in international affairs for almost half a century\, becoming one of the world’s most celebrated diplomats. Working at the heart of the UN\, including ten years as Secretary-General\, he was at the helm grappling with some of the biggest crises of the 21st Century. \nMr Annan is well remembered for his contributions to international politics; for his tireless dedication to advocacy for peace and reform; and for his work on human rights and development. \nWe are delighted to be working with a number of partners to invite you to join us in remembering Mr Annan’s life\, his work and legacy. \nThis event is being held as part of a series of events\, including a conference co-hosted with Chatham House\, to celebrate Kofi Annan’s life and legacy. The series is generously supported by Open Society Foundations and Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. We are grateful for the endorsement of the Kofi Annan Foundation. \nKofi Annan has done much to inspire people from all walks of life. \n

SUMMARY:The Science of Climate Change
DESCRIPTION:United Nations Association Twickenham and Richmond have organised this pub lunch at which Professor Richmond Allan will give a talk on the science of climate change.  Professor Allan is the Professor of Climate Science in the Department of Meteorology at the University of Reading.  He will be happy to answer any questions after his talk. \nThe lunch will be a buffet lunch with vegetarian options and will cost £8.50 per head.  To be sure of your place please email Rodney Mantle (rodneymantle@hotmail.com) and advise him of your intention to attend. \nThe pub opens at 12pm and the presentation will begin at 12.30pm in the Function Room. To gain access to the Function Room please pay Dennis Wilmot for your buffet when you arrive. \nLunch will be served at 13.45pm.
