LASER Summer Council, Marking UN80

LASER Summer Council 2025 is being hosted by UNA Westminster and will mark the 80th anniversary of the signing of the UN Charter in San Francisco. The meeting will be held in The Chapel at Methodist Central Hall, Westminster, SW1H 9NH, which hosted the First Plenary Session of the UN General Assembly in January 1946. The meeting will be on June 21st, 10:30 (for 11:00) – 16:30. During the lunch break, we will visit the adjacent United Nations Green for the formal inauguration of four signs identifying the Green. There will be contributions and debate on the special challenges which currently face the United Nations as it approaches its 81st year. The meeting will be hybrid, using the state-of-the-art technology provided by Central Hall. Excellent refreshments are available in Wesley’s Café, also at the outdoor Street Café. All may bring their own lunch, but this cannot be eaten inside the Central Hall building.
